Nothing is more frustrating for a company than when the shipped package arrives damaged at the customer's location. This not only makes the customer dissatisfied but also causes significant costs in the long run. Therefore, the right packaging of goods is essential for every company. We have compiled the most important tips for you regarding the right packaging material.

Especially for companies that ship their packages via an external transport service provider, pressure-resistant and shockproof packaging is important to avoid transport damage. Depending on the item you are shipping, packaging material must be used. For example, if it is fragile products like wine bottles, you should ensure that the packaging is sufficiently stable. Often, packages are stacked on top of each other in the truck and must withstand the weight of many packages.

There is no one-size-fits-all packaging – it always depends on the shape, weight, and material of your product. When choosing the right packaging material, you should consider the weight. Generally, heavier items require thicker packaging. For lighter items, a thin packaging layer should be chosen that does not unnecessarily crush the product. It is important to ensure that your product does not have unnecessary play within the packaging. You can achieve this either by using sufficient packaging material or by securing the goods accordingly. Special packaging is advisable for very sensitive goods. This is the case, for example, with hazardous materials or media such as CDs.

Therefore, you should ensure that each shipment is securely closed with a flap closure or adhesive tape, so that nothing can tear open during carrying or transport.
